The Early Career Fellowship Programme is a capacity building initiative for the next generation of researchers working on issues of agriculture policy research. The programme focuses on early career professionals who have recently graduated from post-graduate studies and are starting on their careers.
There are three types of awards available under this fellowship programme.
- One year full-time post-masters or post-doc appointment
- One year part-time post-masters or post-doc appointment
- Six months full time post-doc appointment.

This fellowship programme supports young researchers who have recently completed their degree in an appropriate development-related field, including agricultural or applied economics, anthropology, development studies, environmental science and policy (including climate change), gender studies, geography, political science, public administration, rural sociology, science and technology studies, etc.
The focus is on junior candidates early in their career with a strong interest in conducting research on agricultural policy issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.
